Garage MOT Training For All Levels

We offer all MOT tester courses to complement the MOT Bays and MOT equipment that we sell. Depending on your role within an MOT testing station you will require different levels of MOT training, as shown below.

An MOT Tester can be either the business owner or an employee, and this person can also be an AEDM

MOT Tester qualification and training required:

Level 3 qualification certificate in vehicle maintenance or equivalent
MOT tester course (this is practical MOT training)
MOT Demonstration test – this is a mock MOT on a real vehicle observed by the DVSA
Annual MOT assessment

Note: The MOT tester role is not actually required for DVSA sign-off but is recommended.

Authorised Examiner Designated Manager (AEDM)

This can be either the business owner or employee if you have multiple sites, and this person can optionally also be the MOT tester.

AEDM qualification and training required:

No pre-qualifications needed
AEDM training needed by a qualified instructor

All our MOT training courses are developed and delivered by MOT training staff who are all ex-DVSA senior technical staff; our teachers literally wrote the book on the UK MOT and have been delivering MOT training for over 40 years.
