We’re excited to welcome Steven Pogmore to the Concept Garage Equipment team as our newest Trainee Engineer.
Steven’s Journey
Steven’s career has taken him through a variety of hands-on, technical roles. After leaving school, he joined the armed forces, but due to a knee injury he was medically discharged. He then worked as a mobile crane operator, where he spent 7 years driving, rigging up, de-rigging and returning the HGV laden cranes. While he loved the challenge, the long hours and time away from home made it difficult to maintain a work-life balance.
For the last three years, Steven has worked in an anodising factory, applying protective coatings to aluminium components. Though the role kept him closer to home, he was eager to get back into a more technical, hands-on engineering role.
Joining Concept Garage Equipment
Steven first heard about Concept Garage Equipment from a friend who was setting up an MOT Bay. After some research, he came across our company and saw an opportunity to become a Trainee Engineer. He’s excited to bring his experience in mechanics, heavy machinery, and factory work into the world of garage equipment.
A Better Work-Life Balance
Living in Rainworth, Mansfield, Steven was also looking for a role that better suited his growing family. His wife is a self-employed mobile chiropodist, and he wanted to be home more to support her and spend time with his children. Concept Garage Equipment offered the stability he was looking for—structured hours, hands-on work, and career progression in an industry he’s passionate about.
Passions & Hobbies
Outside of work, Steven is a huge automotive enthusiast, particularly when it comes to American muscle cars. It runs in the family—his dad, a plumber, owns several cars and spends his free time fixing them up. Together, they enjoy going to car shows, working on vehicles, and making the most of family time and holidays.
A Bright Future Ahead
As Concept Garage Equipment continues to expand, we’re confident Steven will play an integral role in supporting our mission to provide top-tier equipment and services to garages across the country.
