2 Post Lift Install for GMC Autos Holmfirth

Every garage has unique requirements when it comes to space, workflow and equipment. At Concept Garage Equipment, we work closely with our customers to deliver tailored installations that not only meet their needs but also improve efficiency. Our project with GMC Autos Holmfirth showcases how a well-planned upgrade can transform a working environment.

Car Lift Installation Project Overview

Located in Kirklees, GMC Autos Holmfirth required a tailored solution to expand their lifting capability while optimising their existing space. The brief included:

  • Installation of two Redats L-240 3PH 2-post lifts
  • Careful dismantling, relocation, and reinstallation of an existing Maha 4-post lift into a neighbouring unit

This combination of new installation and garage equipment relocation required precise planning and coordination to ensure minimal disruption to the customer’s workflow.

Smart Use of Existing Garage Equipment

A key element of this project was the integration of recessed run-on ramps (RORs). The customer confirmed they would be utilising recessed RORs from their existing Maha lift setup, allowing for:

  • A cleaner, more streamlined workshop floor
  • Improved vehicle access and positioning
  • Efficient reuse of existing assets

By incorporating these ramps into the new layout, we were able to deliver both cost efficiency and functional improvement.

2 Post Lift Installation

Our team attended the site to complete the full installation and relocation process, ensuring every component was fitted to the highest standard.

The Redats L-240 2-post lifts provide GMC Autos Holmfirth with:

  • Reliable lifting performance for a wide range of vehicles
  • Space-saving design ideal for busy workshops
  • Enhanced access for mechanics

Alongside this, the Maha 4 post lift was carefully dismantled, transported into the neighbouring unit and reinstalled. This gives the business additional operational flexibility across multiple workspaces.

Site Preparation & Coordination

Successful installations rely heavily on strong communication and preparation. Before attending the site, key confirmations were made with the customer, including:

  • Electrical readiness, with a 32-amp cable and socket installed for testing and operation
  • Agreement on the use of recessed ramps
  • Completion of all required documentation and scheduling confirmations

This level of coordination ensured a smooth installation process with no unnecessary delays. GMC Autos Holmfirth now benefits from a more versatile and efficient workshop setup.
