This International Women’s Day, we are shining a spotlight on C J Auto Services Ltd, based in Chichester, and their inspiring owner, Holly.

A Vision for a Safe and Welcoming Garage

Holly approached us with a clear mission of wanting to create a garage that feels like a safe space for women who, for whatever reason, have found dealing with male mechanics difficult.

For many customers, visiting a garage can feel intimidating. Holly wanted to change that narrative by building an environment where women could feel confident, respected and informed when having their vehicles serviced, repaired, or MOT tested.

For this reason, the garage introduced The Pink Service, a female-focused, female-led approach to car care, designed to remove pressure, confusion and jargon.

When Holly called our office, she spoke directly with Georgina, who carefully noted her requirements and budget. We agreed on a competitive price for a vehicle lift that suited Holly’s needs perfectly.

Georgina then guided Holly through the site-ready form and all pre-installation requirements, ensuring everything was in place for a smooth and efficient installation.

The 2 Post Lift Install

For this project, we supplied and installed a C42E 2 Post Lift (1 Phase). This robust and reliable lift is ideal for busy workshops as it offers:

• 4 tonne lifting capacity
• Electric release system for ease of use
• 1 phase power supply compatibility
• Strong, safe and efficient performance

Georgina travelled to site and met our engineer Luke during the installation. While Luke got to work fitting the lift, Georgina sat down with Holly to learn more about her plans for the future of C J Auto Services.

A Community Hub

Holly had just hired her first female mechanic earlier that week, a huge milestone for her business. Her long-term vision goes far beyond standard servicing and repairs.

She is planning to:

• Host evening workshops for women of all ages, teaching the basics of vehicle maintenance, including checking tyre pressures, replacing bulbs and checking and topping up oil.
• Create an environment where customers feel informed rather than pressured.
• Provide honest, transparent servicing without fear of unnecessary upselling.
• Support the local community by installing a toiletry donation drop-off bin for the local supply bank.
