What is a Space Heater?
Do space heaters use a lot of electricity?
There are several types of space heaters, however, those that are powered by electricity can use a lot depending on which setting you run them on, usually, they will have, as a minimum a low and high setting, and often settings in between. We would recommend using the heater on the minimum setting that ensures you are comfortable, but no more than this to restrict the amount of electricity used to the minimum amount required.
Which is the best space heater?
There are many different types of space heaters on the market, each with its own set of features and benefits. To choose the best space heater for your needs, it is important to compare the different models before making a purchase. Factors to consider when selecting a space heater include:
- Size of the room to be heated, the type of heating system (convection or radiant)
- The price of the heater what you can afford vs the functionality
- The current price of electricity vs for example propane
As a guide, based on the space heaters that Concept Garage Equipment stock and sell the most of, these tend to be either diesel/paraffin (kerosene) or Electric Space Heaters, and generally diesel heat is more economical and more efficient than electric heat, and of course, this does depend on the amount you plan to use the space heater as to how much of an impact this will have but also depends on the current price of electricity that you are paying vs the current diesel price.
